AI assistants
Ask your AI assistant for today's counts.
Connect SnapCount once, then ask for yesterday's number for each store or worker, next to last week. It reads the live record, so nobody adds up tally sheets for the report. The counting itself stays on your team's phones.

Example
The report someone above you asks for, written in a minute.
You ask in plain words. The assistant calls SnapCount, reads each unit's count, and answers with the numbers.
You:
Write yesterday's report: each store's foot traffic and how it compares to the same day last week.Assistant
- list_organizations
- get_report
| Store | Yesterday | Week before | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main St | 412 | 388 | +24 |
| Oak Ave | 297 | 341 | -44 |
| Pier 39 | 538 | 502 | +36 |
| Harbor Rd | No counts | 276 | Check |
| Total | 1,247 | 1,231 | +16 |
Oak Ave is down 44 on the same day last week. Harbor Rd has no counts for yesterday, so the total leaves it out. Ready to paste into your email to the district manager.
You:
Which builder had the most pallets this week, and who is behind?Assistant
- list_counters
- get_report
| Builder | This week | Last week | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marco | 1,184 | 1,102 | +82 |
| Dee | 1,036 | 1,090 | -54 |
| Luis | 842 | 1,011 | -169 |
Marco leads with 1,184 pallets. Luis is behind: 842, which is 169 under his own last week.
You:
Set up counters for Main St, Oak Ave and Pier 39 and give me the link for the staff.Assistant
- create_counters
- start_live_link
| Counter | Group | Count | Live link |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main St | Stores | 0 | Yes |
| Oak Ave | Stores | 0 | Yes |
| Pier 39 | Stores | 0 | Yes |

Setup
Pick your assistant. Paste one address.
Every assistant uses the same address. You approve SnapCount in your browser, and that is the whole setup.
Add a custom connector on claude.ai or in Claude Desktop. In Claude Code, it is one command.
- On claude.ai or in Claude Desktop, open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector.
- Name it SnapCount and paste the server address. Leave OAuth Client ID and OAuth Client Secret under Advanced settings blank: Claude registers itself. There is no API key.
- In Claude Code, run the command below instead, then type /mcp and choose snapcount to sign in.
- Your browser opens SnapCount. Sign in if asked, check what the assistant asks for, and approve it.

Turn on developer mode, add SnapCount as an app for a remote MCP server with OAuth, and approve it in the browser.
- On chatgpt.com, turn on Developer mode in Settings. It is available on the ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education plans. A workspace admin may need to allow it first.
- Create an app for a remote MCP server, paste the server address, and choose OAuth. There is no API key.
- Approve SnapCount in the browser, then pick SnapCount from the developer mode tools in a chat.
https://api.snapcount.app/mcpCustom MCP apps in ChatGPT need developer mode turned on.
Add a remote server in Cursor Settings, then Tools and MCP, and click Connect.

}Type remote, plus the address, is the whole config.
Add SnapCount with hermes mcp add and OAuth sign-in, then approve it in the browser.
- Run the command below. It adds SnapCount as a remote HTTP server that signs in with OAuth, not with a token.
- On the first connect, or with the second command, a browser window opens. Approve SnapCount.
- On your own computer, Hermes waits on localhost for the browser to finish. On a remote machine, forward that port over SSH first.

Tools
Six tools: four read, two create.
They answer for organizations on Pro and Enterprise, and each keeps the plan and role rules of the matching screen in the app.
Read
4Look up your organizations, the live totals, reports and running links. Nothing changes.
List organizations
list_organizationsYour organizations, your role in each, the plan, and how many counters and groups each one has.
Any member. It says which organizations are on Pro or Enterprise, the only ones the other tools answer for.
List counters and live totals
list_countersEvery counter you can see with its live count, goal and lock, grouped by store or worker, with each group's total.
Any member of a Pro or Enterprise organization.
Get a report
get_reportA snapshot, the daily report (high, low, end of day, events, top counter per day), busiest times, counts by person, or each count with its time, for up to 90 days, in your time zone.
Snapshot and daily: Pro or Enterprise. Busiest times, by person and timestamped events: Enterprise.
List live links
list_live_linksThe live counting links that are running, their counters, the link, and how many devices are connected.
Pro or Enterprise.
Create
2Add counters and start a live link for the team. Nothing is changed or removed.
Create counters
create_countersOne new group with up to 50 named counters, one per store, door or worker, added up by default.
Needs write access, on Pro or Enterprise.
Start a live link
start_live_linkStarts a live link for up to 30 counters, or hands back the one already running: a link and a QR code anyone can count on without an account.
An owner or admin, on Pro or Enterprise.
Limits
What it can never do.
None of the six tools changes, resets or deletes a count. Here is the rest.
It cannot change a count
No adding, subtracting, resetting, undoing or setting a number. The counting stays on your team's phones.
It cannot delete or remove
No deleting or archiving counters, no removing members or changing roles, and nothing to do with billing.
It sees only what you see
It acts as you, with your role and your counter access. Organizations you are not a member of stay out of reach.
You approve it, and you can disconnect it
You approve it once in your browser. Settings, Developers, AI assistants lists each assistant, and disconnecting one stops its next call.
Every call is recorded for 90 days
Which tool, whether it worked, which assistant, and which organization. You see the recent activity in Settings.
300 calls an hour
Enough for a long conversation, and a stop for an assistant stuck in a loop.
Prompts
Ask the way you would ask a colleague.
Try asking
- "Write yesterday's report: each store's foot traffic and how it compares to the same day last week."
- "Which builder had the most pallets this week, and who is behind?"
- "Set up counters for Main St, Oak Ave and Pier 39 and give me the link for the staff."
- "What were the busiest 15 minutes at each door on Saturday?"Enterprise
Ready-made prompts
Assistants that show prompts, often as a slash command or a menu, list these from SnapCount. Each one only gives the assistant the steps.
Daily report
daily_reportEach store's or worker's count for the day, next to the same weekday a week earlier, with any unit that has no counts flagged. Ready to send up the chain.
Weekly review
weekly_reviewTotals per unit per week, the best and worst units, and the trend.
Set up counting
set_up_countingProposes counters, creates them once you agree, then starts a live link and hands back the link for the team.
Frequently asked questions
Which assistants work?
Any assistant that can add a remote MCP server and sign in with OAuth. This page has steps for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, Antigravity, Lovable, Replit, Warp, Zed, OpenCode, Hermes, Grok. They all use the same address.
Which plans include it?
Pro and Enterprise, at no extra cost, including the Event Pass and lifetime plans. It is not in the trial or the free plan: approving an assistant needs at least one organization on Pro or Enterprise, and it answers only for those organizations. Within them it keeps the app's rules: busiest times, counts by person and timestamped events are on Enterprise.
Can it change my counts?
No. It cannot add to, subtract from, reset, undo or set a count, and it cannot delete counters. It can read counts and reports, create new counters and start a live link. The counting stays on your team's phones.
Who can connect an assistant?
Anyone signed in to SnapCount can open the approval screen. Approving needs at least one organization on Pro or Enterprise. The assistant acts as you and sees only what you see. Starting a live link needs an owner or admin, as it does in the app.
Do I need an API key?
No. You paste the address, and your browser opens SnapCount to approve the connection. The assistant gets its own access, which you can disconnect at any time.
What does my team need?
Nothing new. They keep counting on their phones, in the app or on a live link. Only the person asking the questions connects an assistant.
Your daily numbers, in the chat you already use.
Set up a counter for each store or worker, then connect your assistant. The connection is part of Pro and Enterprise.
